Job Description

Reports to:  Lieutenant or Captain

Objective 
The ability to effectively interact with the general public, DoD personnel and all ranks of military, civilians and visitors. This position is under the direct supervision of the site Captain for assigned shift of the security department and is responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, customers and all visitors.  

Essential functions

Be able to read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly and clearly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public.The ability to maintain a professional, tactful and courteous demeanor under stressful situations security personnel routinely encounter. Be able to compose in the English language precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports as necessary.

  1. Performs security patrols.

  2. Enforces access control procedures.

  3. Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire and accidents.

This position has No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional Federal government oriented environment. The environment is such where customer service skills and professionalism are of the utmost importance. Environment and duty related policies and procedures are subject to change based upon company and client requirements.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen and physically touch at times.

  2. Frequently is required to stand and/or sit for extended durations of time without reasonable assistance or accommodation (not to exceed 12 hours).

  3. Perform patrols as directed in conditions weather inside or out that may be considered hazardous, austere or in extreme weather and climate conditions.

  4. Must be able to articulate events, clearly and concisely in written form.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

 

  1. This is a Full-Time position with variable and rotating or fixed shifts of anywhere between 8 and 12 hours.

  2. The position will require availability on nights, weekends and holidays.

  3. Applicant must be aware and understand that they may be subject to alternative scheduling as applicable as job duties demand.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. ?Valid State Issued Driver’s license
  2. Security and/or law enforcement experience

  3. Current First Aid/CPR/ AED Certification through the American Red Cross

  4. Current Monadnock Baton Certification

  5. Contractor’s Certification of Basic Training

  6. Contract’s Certification of Initial Weapons Training

  7. Weapons Detection Training Program X-RAY Initial Training

 

Job Requirements

To be eligible to perform under this contract, each contract employee must meet the following education, experience, health, and security requirements: 

  1. Must be eligible for and, subsequently be issued  (application DD Form 2249) for a  Department of Defense (DoD) Contractor Common Access Card (CAC)  prior to working any Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) contracts.  Contract Security Officers (CSO) will wear the DoD government issued identification, plainly displayed on the right epaulet of the duty uniform shirt or jacket (outer most piece of clothing).
  2. Must be a US. Citizen
  3.  Education/Experience - Must be a high school/GED graduate, and have at least three (3) years of Security experience demonstrating:

  4.  If the experience criteria in para " 1"  cannot be met, one of the following experience requirements will suffice: 

  5. An Associate’s Degree, or at least 60 semester hours of college coursework in any field of study; or

  6. Three years of military service (active duty or reserve) experience; or 

  7.  Successful completion of Police Officer’s Standard Training (POST) course. 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Valid State Issued Driver’s license

  5. Contract’s Certification of Initial Weapons Training

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. The applicant must be able to successfully complete a Physical Assessment Test (PAT).

  2. The applicant is required to submit to pre-employment medical exam and drug screening.

  3. The applicant must be able to pass an NLIC / State / Local Background check and Credit check (as applicable).

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 
Possess a clearance level of Secret or higher issued by the United States Department of Defense.
